The ISTD is looking for an Artistic Director who will take a key role in leading the Society’s national and international development strategy and in strengthening its education, training and professional development provision.
Founded in 1904, the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) is one of the world’s leading dance examination boards with members in over 75 countries. With a mission to educate the public in the art of dancing in all its forms, the ISTD has provided training for dance teachers and examiners, enabling teachers to enter their students for examinations, develop new techniques and spread the joy of dance. We support our members through teaching syllabi and techniques, courses, summer schools and events.
The ISTD is now looking for an Artistic Director who will take a key role in leading the Society’s national and international development strategy and in strengthening its education, training and professional development provision and will therefore make a real contribution to the world of dance education. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the dance industry and best practice in dance teaching and learning, and experience at a strategic level of management in a dance or arts-based organisation. They will be effective communicators and problem solvers with a passion for excellence in dance.

Interview Date: 30 June and 8 July 2015
Salary: circa £60,000 pa
