An Evening of Youth Dance at The Plough Arts Centre
We had the chance to chat and have some creative dance conversations with some of the young dancers who were performing at the Inspire Youth Dance Event at The Plough Arts Centre on Thursday 13th July, organised by Community Dance Artist Jennie Dodd.
We had some engaging talks and it came across very clearly how dedicated the young dancers are to their art form, and how dance acts as a release from their everyday lives and has helped overcome shyness within the groups.
There was a great mix of performances from the 3 youth groups present: Make The Move, Ilfracombe; XSNRG, Budehaven Community College and Lyndsay Ballet Studios along with the dance film made by work experience students. It was fantastic to see how much dance means to these young people, and their commitment and drive to achieve in dance.
