Devon County Council has launched a new website which encourages communities in Devon to deliver services differently.
‘Many people in Devon have ideas about doing something differently in their community. We want to work with them to provide services in ways we have not tried before.
The website provides tools to help kick start a project and shares examples of communities who are already taking action to benefit their local area. The website will continue to develop with wider input from communities and as we develop learning, capacity and skills in this area.
Why has the website been launched?
We have been involved in a government programme called Delivering Differently to explore options for how youth services, library services and day care opportunities for older people and people with learning disabilities can be better delivered locally in three communities – Ottery St Mary, Tavistock and Totnes. As a result of this programme we can now share information and guidance to progress ideas in other communities.’
