Public Relations specialist and Dance in Devon Board member, Gillian Taylor, will be sharing her knowledge of using video on social media to help document, promote and market your work. The course will provide you with the skills and confidence you need to produce engaging videos on a low budget.
Meet the workshop leader:
Gillian Taylor is a creative communications professional with extensive experience in cultural PR. She has skills in media relations, digital marketing, relationship management, stakeholder engagement, and a range of other techniques for raising the profile of artists and cultural organisations.
Gillian works with specialists in a range of fields to provide communications services including media relations, crisis communications, brand development, digital marketing, copywriting, print and online publishing, media training and video. She works with arts and cultural organisations to raise their profile. Gillian has undertaken mobile journalism training with BBC and RTÉ and uses these techniques to create online content.
What the workshop will involve:
The course will provide you with the skills and confidence you need to produce engaging videos on a low budget. During the training, you will learn how to make quick videos to share ‘in the moment’ on social media, as well as how to film and edit short trailers and news stories to use online. The course will cover filming techniques, making the most of a smartphone, how to use apps and basic additional kit to improve quality.

Dance artists and organisations, and anyone interested in finding out more about using mobile videos effectively as marketing and promotional materials. No technical experience needed, just a phone with a camera!
