During the school holidays Dance in Devon offers young people the chance to join professional choreographers and musicians for a day of creative, fun and inclusive dance workshops working towards creating a ‘Dance in a Day’ to share with each other, parents and friends.
Participants form a dance company for one day, facing an intensive challenge to learn new creative skills and work together to be ready to perform their piece at the end of the day! Participants can also work with a musician to discover and play with the creation of music alongside movement .
Digital Dance in a Day:
During the school holidays Dance in Devon also offers young people the chance to work with Dance Artist Ben Dunks and Digital Technologist Chris Hunt for a day of creative digital dance workshops working towards creating a ‘Digital Dance in a Day’.
The day will normally entail creating new dance and new dance experiences through working with Digital technologies like Motion Capture, Augmented Reality and potentially Virtual Reality. Participants will go through a creative dance process with Ben Dunks and Chris Hunt and then will work with the available technologies to create a new piece or experience.
We are hoping to run Dance in a Day events in the October 2019 half term. Watch this space for more details.
