Do you love choreographing? Are you aged 18-25? Want exclusive workshops with some of the country’s best choreographers?
Young Choreographers South West is a scheme open to young people aged 18-25 from the South West who are passionate about creating dance for performance or participation, who love to be challenged and inspired and to meet internationally renowned choreographers.
Over the past three years Dance in Devon and Pavilion Dance South West have been welcoming young choreographers from across the region to learn and train with some of the UK’s best choreographers. In a fun, supportive environment you will explore new choreographic devices, be inspired by fresh approaches and meet like minded artists.
The residencies for 2017/18 are confirmed for the following weekends:
Saturday 28 / Sunday 29 October 2017 at Dartington Estate
Saturday 13 & Sunday 14 January 2018 at Pavilion Dance, Bournemouth
We are excited to announce that leading choreographers Rosie Kay and Dan Daw have been confirmed for Dartington. Watch this space as these are announced for PDSW. Each day includes: practical choreographic workshops and discussion with leading choreographers.
Each weekend will be charged at a subsidized rate of £100, £200 for both weekends. This contributes towards the workshop content and one nights’ accommodation.
How to Apply:
Download the application form below and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org by 12noon on Monday 18 September. Please read Guidance Notes before applying.
We select participating young choreographers based on the quality of their application. If you’re successful we will get in touch and check that you are still available and keen to take part.
If you would prefer to submit your application as a video application please follow these steps:
* Ensure you talk through each section of the application form fully. (You should think about preparing your answers before starting your recording)
* Keep it low quality – we’re looking for the most thought through answers not a block buster movie! This can be done direct to your laptop camera or mobile phone.
* Keep it succinct and short – we recommend keeping it under 6 minutes.
Upload it to YouTube or Vimeo and set your video to Private. Please send through the link to your video and the password required to access it.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact email@example.com
